Batman Begins star Colin McFarlane and the Dope Black Dads online community, spearheaded by Marvyn Harrison, are supporting Prostate Cancer UK, highlighting the fact that Black men are at a higher risk of developing the disease compared to other ethnicities, and dispelling misconceptions about the screening process.
McFarlane, who was diagnosed with prostate cancer in December 2022, commented 'Being a Black man over 45 it is so important to know you are at double the risk of getting the disease. 1 in 4 Black men will get prostate cancer at some point in their lifetime and 1 in 8 men. It’s the most common cancer in men and I’m talking about it to raise awareness and save lives'.
